Solar Eclipse is a 3D shooter set among the moons of Saturn. You play as a pilot assigned to a carrier squadron investigating a crisis on the mining colony Janus. Each mission mixes dogfights and ground combat as you uncover a deeper mystery. The game’s mechanics focus on piloting and shooting with occasional foot-based missions. The story unfolds through full-motion video clips and messages from your squad during missions. Released in late 1995 for PlayStation and Sega Saturn, it uses FMV for narrative, which was common in the mid-90s but still feels dated today.
