Solar Panic: Utter Distress is a first-person adventure game where you navigate a bizarre, self-proclaimed true story. The plot follows a narrator who insists they’re recounting real events while clearly making everything up. You explore a variety of settings from mundane offices to alien landscapes using bizarre gadgets to interact with the environment. Dialogue and action are equally absurd with characters ranging from awkward scientists to suspicious aliens. The game balances slapstick humor with a slowly unfolding conspiracy that somehow ties all the nonsense together. The game’s strength lies in its relentless commitment to weirdness. Every location and character feels like an improv session gone delightfully off-script. While it hasn’t dominated charts it holds a cult following among fans of offbeat humor. At 12 hours of playtime on average it’s a short but consistently entertaining ride. The lack of traditional structure might frustrate some but others will appreciate the chaotic charm.
