About

Soldier Elite casts you as a covert operative infiltrating hostile labs with a mix of stealth and gunfire. Developed by Metropolis Software in 2006, it leans heavily on third-person sneaking, gadget-based takedowns, and linear mission design. You’ll navigate environments meant to mimic Metal Gear Solid’s tension but often hindered by clunky movement and awkward camera angles. Dialogue is delivered via stiff voice acting that stumbles over translation quirks, while mission variety dwindles quickly. The game’s attempt to balance tactical planning with action sequences feels half-baked, leaving many encounters repetitive. Despite a 2006 release and budget-friendly price, Soldier Elite failed to earn respect. Metacritic aggregates it at 47/100, with critics calling it a derivative shadow of better stealth games. Its PC port and single-player focus didn’t save it from obscurity. What stands out isn’t its execution but its cautionary tale: ambitious imitation without polish rarely lands. A relic of mid-2000s indie missteps, it’s best approached as a curiosity rather than a recommendation.

Storyline

After the investigation of a Russian submarine crash leads to alarming new intelligence, agent Cole Sullivan (a.k.a. White Fox) is recruited for a mission. Through the use of an arsenal of advanced weapons and high-tech gadgets, Cole’s mission is to infiltrate the suspicious military laboratories controlled by DNA scientist Jacek Parecki and uncover what’s hidden beneath. Soldier Elite is a high-quality and competitively priced modern 3rd person tactical shooter for the PC that combines stealth aspects with action sequences that can be enjoyed by the casual gamer.
