Solvalou is a first-person rail shooter from 1991 that lets you pilot a starship through waves of enemies. You control the Solvalou, blasting Xevious forces threatening Earth using two weapons. The air zapper takes down flying targets while the blaster bomb hits ground units. The game follows a fixed path with limited maneuvering, focusing on timing and target prioritization. It runs on Namco’s System 21 hardware and appears on Wii and arcade platforms. This title stands out for blending fast-paced action with a first-person perspective uncommon in rail shooters of its era. Players manage dual weapon systems in a high-intensity setting, demanding quick reflexes. As the sixth Xevious game, it leans into the series’ roots in aggressive combat. Single-player only, with no online features.
