Sonic Legends is a fan-made platformer built around reworking iconic levels from decades of Sonic fan games. Play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles or Amy as you dash across remixed zones filled with speed-based platforming, homing attacks and familiar hazards. The goal remains the same classic formula: collect Chaos Emeralds while stopping Dr. Eggman’s latest plan to hijack a ancient power source called Phossil. Each level blends retro mechanics with new twists, requiring precise jumps and creative use of character abilities to unlock shortcuts and secrets. The project stands out as a collaborative effort from the fan community, with Ultra Ring leading development as a non-profit tribute to Sonic’s legacy. While not officially licensed, it captures the frantic energy of 2D Sonic games with a focus on tight controls and nostalgic level design. Early playtests suggest the difficulty curve leans toward experienced players, but the pixel-perfect physics and optional challenges appeal to longtime fans. No online features or multiplayer, but the single-player campaign offers around 8-10 hours of classic-style platforming with a modern polish.

Storyline

The nefarious Dr. Eggman is at it again! Just off the trickling coast at the edge of Sonic’s birthplace, Christmas Island, stands the glorious Sunrise Gate and the power source embedded deep in its majesty, Phossil - the doctor’s old go-to for his dastardly schemes. After emerging out of a Charged-up Fake Chaos Ring; traversing through treacherous and unusual locales. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy must collect the Chaos Emeralds and put a stop to Dr. Eggman once more! The state of the Nexus Dimension is in your hands! Go, Sonic! Everyone is counting on you!
