About

Sonic Terror is a turn-based tactical RPG where you play as a rebel rock band fighting an alien-infected regime. Set in an alternate 1984, the game forces you to use music as a weapon against a dystopian Republic and its parasitic invaders. Combat revolves around arranging musical elements into attacks, with each instrument and track serving as a tactical tool. The story follows your band as the last hope to stop silence from consuming the world, blending 80s rock aesthetics with body horror themes. The game stands out for its bold premise and creative use of music mechanics. Reviews highlight its distinct setting, which fuses Cold War-era politics with sci-fi body horror, though some note pacing issues in later missions. With a soundtrack composed by a rotating cast of indie musicians, Sonic Terror earned a 78% average rating for its ambition, despite mixed reactions to its sometimes clunky UI. Players often return for the chaotic blend of metal guitar solos and grid-based strategy.
