Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble casts Sonic and Miles "Tails" Prower in a race against Dr. Robotnik to recover seven Chaos Emeralds scattered across Mobius. Players alternate between Sonic’s jet-powered skateboard and Tails’ submarine-like Sea Fox to tackle stages set on land water and snow. The game emphasizes speed and precision with tight platforming sections and occasional underwater puzzle segments. A secondary antagonist Nack the Weasel adds competition by pursuing the same emeralds. Despite its 1994 release the game stands out for its polished co-op mechanics allowing split-screen play on supported systems and its varied level design. While later entries in the series overshadowed it Triple Trouble remains a fan favorite for its brisk pacing and creative use of the characters’ abilities. Its port to the Nintendo 3DS in 2012 introduced the game to a new audience though original Game Gear owners still consider it a relic of peak 16-bit design.

Storyline

While the evil genius Dr. Robotnik is testing the ultmate destructive weapon, one of his assistants makes a mistake causing his lab to explode and scattering five Chaos Emeralds across the planet Mobius.
