South Pole Bebop is a two-player turn-based strategy game mixing base building, character management, and deck construction. Set on a 9x9 grid, each player controls three characters and three bases while battling both the enemy and a shared zombie horde. Before matches, players build decks from 15 ability cards and three characters, balancing movement, defense, and offensive tools. During play, cores collected from kills let you buy new cards, but only from your prebuilt deck. Every move matters as you protect your positions while trying to collapse your opponent’s, all while fending off waves that threaten both sides. The game’s hook is its dual-pressure system: you’re fighting another player and a relentless AI-driven horde at the same time. Its Antarctic setting adds quirky charm with penguin and seal protagonists, but the real draw is tight, tactical combat. Early access reviews praise its deep strategy and how deckbuilding mechanics force creative trade-offs. Launching in December 2024, it’s already drawing comparisons to Into the Breach and Steam’s top 10% of strategy titles by engagement. The challenge is high, but so is the replay value.
In the icy expanse of Antarctica, a once serene village finds itself besieged by an unholy horde of zombies unleashed by a clandestine AI organization from the heart of The South Pole itself. But the mystery deepens: from whence do these fiendish creatures arise? Could it be that unsuspecting villagers fall victim to the zombie plague, transforming into undead assailants themselves? As the last hope for salvation, the fate of the village rests squarely upon your shoulders. Embark on an epic journey alongside Mahana, the resilient penguin, and Sealprano, the courageous seal, as well as a host of other brave denizens of the South Pole, as you rally to repel the invaders and safeguard your homes, your loved ones, and the very essence of your community.
