Space Eggs is a one-screen top-down shooter from 1981 that tasks you with blasting waves of incoming alien eggs. You control a ship at the bottom of the screen, firing up at clusters of enemies dropping from above. Simple mechanics and fast action make it easy to pick up but hard to put down. The Apple II and Atari 8-bit versions retain the same core gameplay, with minor graphical differences between ports. Nasir Gebelli's work here shows his knack for tight arcade design even on early hardware. Though it lacks the polish of later shooters, its quick matches and responsive controls keep it feeling lively. The December 1981 release date means it barely missed the golden age peak but still fits right in with classic 80s arcade vibes.
