You’re the last line of defense at a lonely space outpost. Enemies spawn from all four corners of the screen, rushing toward your central base. Your job is to blast them before they reach the middle. The action ramps up fast as later waves send more ships faster, forcing you to dart your crosshair and fire without slowing. The relentless pressure and simple yet punishing design make it easy to lose track of time as you chase higher scores. Space Fortress turns frantic single player into a chaotic multiplayer showdown with up to four players or teams. Everyone shares the same screen, which means accidental collisions and overlapping fire add to the mayhem. Released in 1981, it’s a relic that still nails the arcade high-score grind. Local play brings out the competitive edge, just warn friends that their reflexes won’t have a break.

Storyline

You command a lonely outpost far away in the galaxy. The alert sounds. You're being attacked by alien ships from all directions. You destroy some – but they keep coming faster and faster. You'll find Space Fortress positively addicting. It always keeps your interest because of the increasing speed of the enemy assault from all sides. Up to 4 players.
