Spaceteam is a chaotic co-op game where you and up to three friends frantically shout orders and mash buttons to keep your ship from exploding. Each player controls a separate device with overlapping screens that only they can see. One person’s “activate thrusters” might mean another’s “disable shields” so constant communication is key. The game throws absurd technical jargon at you like “Discharge Clip-jawed Fluxtrunions” or “Calibrate Four-stroke Pluckers” adding to the frantic energy. It’s all about rapid miscommunication and quick reflexes with failure meaning instant doom for the whole team. The humor comes from the ridiculous terminology and the pure stress of coordinating without shared visuals. It maintains a 8/10 on Metacritic and has held up over time since its 2012 release. Local multiplayer only means no online hassle just messy in-person fun. Best with people who don’t mind yelling over each other as your ship implodes for the tenth time.
