Special Force is a free-to-play first person shooter that blends combat and progression mechanics. Players join teams for objectives like planting bombs or stealing items or tackle solo challenges and deathmatch modes. Choose from military units like French GIGN or US Delta Force and equip rented armor for different encounters. Weapons degrade over time and need repair but are permanent once bought and remain in your inventory until sold. Earn experience points through matches to level up and unlock rewards tied to specific ranks. The game emphasizes variety with multiple modes and unit options but focuses heavily on gear management. Modern settings and a roster of international forces add replay value while the durability system adds risk-reward depth. Launched in 2004 it maintains a niche following among tactical shooter players who appreciate its structured progression and team-based design. No modding or customization beyond purchases keeps the focus on strategy over cosmetics.
Special Force provides several game modes including team battle (bomb planting, escaping, object stealing, etc.), single battle, team deathmatch, and horror mode. Most modes consist of a red team and a blue team, with the exceptions of a single battle, training, and horror mode. The game allows for a maximum of 16 users to be in the same room playing together. Players can purchase and utilize a range of character forces, including French GIGN, German GSG 9, Malaysian PASKAL, Republic of Korea Marine Corps, US Army Delta Force, and Russian Spetsnaz. Players may also rent equipment for speed and armor. Various modern-themed weapons are available. Weapons have durability and must be repaired often. They cannot be modified like in other first-person shooters, but once they are purchased, they are permanent and stay in the inventory until the player sells them. Players rank up after receiving enough experience points, gained after each match, with bonus rewards at certain ranks.
