"Spectrum is a minimalistic platformer which really tests your patience with it’s more advanced Dark World levels. The simplistic nature of the game makes this a great game to pick up and play in short bursts, but there is also enough content for longer play sessions as well. The addition of a two-player time-attack mode was fun, but it doesn’t deviate from the core mechanic of the main game or offer anything new other than declaring who’s the fastest between the two players. However, based on the current price point and how much time Spectrum entertained us, I wouldn’t have any issues recommending this to casual gamers or those looking for a simple game they can just pick up and play."

Spectral Tower is a role-playing game where you navigate a towering structure floor by floor, switching between a top-down view for exploration and a first-person perspective during combat. The story follows a group of morally flawed individuals drawn to a remote desert town, each burdened by their own past. As they ascend the mysterious tower at the continent's center, the game blends dungeon crawling with turn-based battles, requiring strategy to overcome increasingly difficult challenges. The game stands out for its dual-camera approach, which creates a distinct rhythm between exploration and combat. Though released in 1996, its focus on methodical progression and character-driven narrative has earned it a cult following among classic RPG fans. The tower’s shifting layout and escalating threats keep the experience tense, with each climb feeling like a test of skill and preparation. Idea Factory’s early work here laid the groundwork for a series that later expanded on its core mechanics.
Sinners are being drawn to a nameless town somewhere in Neverland, as if they were being attracted like iron to a magnet. Some had been gathering people for war, while others had been hurting others for their own gain. It was as if they all had their own cross to bear. In the middle of the continent, rose the Spectral Tower, which reflected in their eyes. It is said that a new world will open up for those who can make it to the top of that tower...
