Speedy Gonzales: Los Gatos Bandidos is a side-scrolling platformer built for speed. You control a quick-footed mouse darting through levels filled with hills, tunnels, and hazards. Bounce on mousetraps to launch over obstacles and kick enemies to clear the way. Each stage tasks you with rescuing captured mice while collecting scattered cheese. The action is straightforward but zippy, with tight controls and a focus on momentum over complex mechanics. The game leans into its lighthearted premise with cartoonish visuals and a goofy script. Traps double as power-ups, adding a layer of strategy to the platforming. Released in 1995 for the SNES, it’s a product of its era, charming in its simplicity but with repetitive level design that wears thin over time. Still, fans of fast-paced 2D action might enjoy the nostalgic charm and the challenge of rescuing every mouse.
In a small Mexican village, all the mice were enjoying a fiesta until Los Gatos Bandidos, a group of cats, came and kidnapped them all. Only Slowpoke escaped and sent for his cousin, the fastest mouse in Mexico... Speedy Gonzales! Following the trail of the Bandidos, Speedy will enter each level and try to rescue as many mice as possible while chasing after cheese and avoiding natural hazards. Ariba! Ariba!
