Spinmaster is a side-scrolling brawler with platforming elements that lets you play as Johnny or his partner Tom. Both characters wield yo-yos as their default weapon but can pick up a range of upgrades including throwing stars and ice daggers. The game blends straightforward beat ’em up combat with light puzzle-solving as you navigate levels filled with traps and enemies. Co-op play lets two players team up to take down Dr. De Playne’s goons while searching for hidden treasures and rescuing a captured love interest. The game stands out for its quirky weapon progression and cooperative mode which was relatively rare in arcade brawlers at the time. While not widely discussed in modern circles it holds a niche spot among Neo Geo and arcade enthusiasts for its simple but punchy gameplay. Originally released in 1993 it remains playable on retro platforms like the Wii and Neo Geo AES.
