You play as a teenager trapped in a haunted house battling hordes of ghouls with fists weapons and environmental objects. Combat is fast and aggressive blending arcade-style brawling with timed button mashing for combo attacks. Each level throws new enemies and obstacles your way keeping the action chaotic and unpredictable. The single-player story mode pushes you through increasingly ridiculous set pieces with minimal slowdown between encounters. The game’s biggest draw is its over-the-top violence and retro aesthetic. While it doesn’t break new ground mechanically the sheer intensity of the fights and variety of finishing moves keep things entertaining. It’s a short ride but the relentless pace and nostalgic throwbacks to the original Splatterhouse might appeal to fans of old-school brawlers. Most players finish it in under five hours so consider this more of a quick burst of carnage than a long-term commitment.
