Splice casts you as Sam Foster, trapped in a remote bunker after a DNA experiment goes rogue. You spend most of the game confined to a security office, using limited tools to explore blueprints, bypass locks, and piece together what’s happening outside. The real threat lurks in the dark, every creak and muffled noise ramps up tension as you scavenge dwindling supplies and time your movements between checks. Puzzle solving mixes with survival instincts: you’re racing to reboot a mainframe while avoiding something that doesn’t care about your plans. The game’s strength lies in its claustrophobic pacing and audio design. Player forums note the creature encounters feel earned, with jump scares tied to your own curiosity rather than cheap tricks. While not graphically intense, the dim lighting and creaking metal walls keep the atmosphere tight. Early reviews highlight its difficulty curve, some found the resource management frustrating, but most praised how every decision feels weighted. Best played with volume up and lights on.
