About

Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy is a side-scrolling adventure that shifts the dragon to a more traditional platforming setup. The game alternates between exploring overworlds and diving into self-contained mini-challenges. These range from a gem-collecting shooter to timed button-mashing battles and Breakout-inspired levels. The story ties Spyro to Crash Bandicoot’s universe as they team up against a merged Ripto and Dr. Cortex. Single-player progression mixes exploration with puzzle-solving, while link cable multiplayer lets friends compete in separate challenges. The game stands out for its chaotic variety of mini-games, each with distinct mechanics and time limits. While the GBA hardware keeps visuals simple, the pacing and humor of the clashes between villains add charm. The crossover elements feel more like setting than forced novelty, and the inclusion of both franchises’ staples ensures familiar beats. Though it lacks the polish of later Spyro titles, it remains a brisk, quirky entry in the handheld action-adventure space.

Storyline

Ripto and Dr. Cortex have combined their forces to take over the world once and for all. Right in the middle of it all our the heroes, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. Spyro now finds himself in both familiar and unfamiliar territory, passing through the realms into Crash's world as well as his own to defeat the evil that awaits. Spyro's usual abilities are available as always.
