Storyline

The best way to save money on employees is if they don't live long enough to get paid. Amalgamate offers emergency-maintenance services to any and all companies that need to keep their remotely-operated ships and manufacturing plants running for as long as possible for as cheap as possible. Once the revenue of the site safely exceeds the amount of compensation that Amalgamate has promised its employees, a rescue ship is sent to extract them. The only problem is that Amalgamate promises its employees very, very high payouts.
