Star Wars: The New Droid Army is a side-scrolling platformer where Anakin Skywalker battles Count Dooku’s droid forces across nine stages. You leap over obstacles, slice through enemies with a lightsaber, and use limited Force abilities to solve puzzles. The stages span desert plains, space vessels, and alien cities as Anakin teams up with Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Queen Amidala. A two-player mode lets friends tackle levels together though enemies and hazards remain the main challenge. Launched in 2002 for Game Boy Advance, the game feels lean and straightforward. Its charm comes from recognizable Star Wars locations and character cameos. While the controls and visuals show the limitations of the hardware, the focus on simple platforming and familiar faces makes it a brisk, nostalgic pick. Players seeking deep mechanics or modern polish might pass but fans of classic Star Wars games on handhelds could find it worth a spin.
