About

Starquake is a fast-paced platformer where you control a blob-like robot tasked with stopping a dying planet from erupting. Navigate crumbling terrain, dodge hazards, and collect core components to stabilize the planet before the countdown hits zero. Puzzle-solving and precision jumps are key as you battle unstable environments and limited resources. The game’s retro aesthetics and frantic pacing keep the urgency high, with mechanics that lean into old-school challenge. Released in 1985, it ran on budget 8-bit systems like the C64 and Spectrum, making it a product of its time but still nostalgic for retro fans. The frantic race against time and the absurd premise of a blob saving the galaxy stand out, with some players praising its bold creativity. While the controls feel clunky by modern standards, the game’s relentless energy and quirky charm have earned it a cult following.
