Steel Lords tacks a grid-based strategy layer onto the brawler roots of its predecessor. You juggle real time combat with planning moves on a chess-like board each turn. Attacks and defenses shift based on positioning and unit types. Mini quizzes pop up during downtime to unlock upgrades. The Wii U GamePad handles strategy while the TV shows action. The blend of immediate brawling and methodical planning creates a rhythm that sets it apart. Leaderboards track trivia scores and battle efficiency. Some players get stuck on puzzle levels but most appreciate the dual pace. It doesn’t outshine the original but carves its own niche.
