Strato Fighter is a fast-paced arcade shooter from Tecmo where you pilot a futuristic spacecraft battling alien forces in 2135. Players control the MB-OG Raiga, a ship that can spin freely to fire on enemies from any angle. You’ll zip through waves of hostiles, collecting power-ups from destroyed container ships to upgrade weapons like the Ion launcher and Homing Missiles. While the game supports two players at once, most action unfolds in single-player mode as you tackle relentless waves of invaders. What makes Strato Fighter stick out is its responsive spin mechanic and the variety of offensive tools. The Raiga’s ability to pivot lets you dodge and attack without slowing down, and power-ups like Auto Guard add tactical layers. Players can choose from three defensive helpers, each with distinct abilities like the Beam Rifle’s lock-on fire or the Solid Shooter’s heavy damage. Though dated by today’s standards, the game’s tight controls and escalating difficulty keep the action fresh for short bursts of shooting.
