Straya drops you into the Australian outback during the late 1960s where survival means outlasting creatures that want you dead. As a crocodile hunter, you navigate dense forests, swamps, and rivers while battling saltwater crocs, venomous snakes, and unpredictable weather. Combat blends shooting, traps, and stealth as you track targets while managing hunger, thirst, and the constant threat of being eaten. The environment itself acts as an opponent, with sudden storms or lurking spiders turning calm moments into chaos. The game leans into Australia’s dangerous beauty, using real locations and wildlife to create tension. Every step feels risky, logs hide snakes, murky water hides jaws, and even the sun becomes a hazard. Reviews note the pacing can feel repetitive, but fans praise the visceral threat of death and the grim humor in its "nature versus you" approach. With 12 hours of main content and optional hunts, it’s a short but intense trip under a hostile sun.
In the late 1960's, before crocodile hunting was banned, the government had bounties on many animals. Some native to the land, some not. It was during this time many made a living by hunting, and some of the most brave, or foolish, hunted the fierce salt water crocodile, the most aggressive croc in the world. Australia. A land full of wonder and opportunity...to be bitten, poisoned, ripped, killed and probably eaten by nearly everything that moves. It's a harsh but beautiful land, a land down under, a land of myth and legend.
