Street Fighter EX Plus is a 1997 arcade fighter that builds on its predecessor with expanded content. It features a roster of 18 fighters including all previously hidden characters unlocked from the start. Players engage in fast-paced one-on-one combat with improved mechanics and balanced character design. Single-player mode offers a structured path through the roster while the addition of four new fighters adds depth to matchups. The game retains the original’s emphasis on precise timing and strategic mix-ups making it accessible yet challenging for seasoned players. Key additions include Evil Ryu a dark alternate version of Ryu first seen in Street Fighter Alpha 2 and two cybernetic newcomers Cycloid β and Cycloid γ. A reworked variant of Hokuto named Bloody Hokuto also joins the fray adding more diversity to fighting styles. While lacking online features or co-op modes the expanded cast and polished gameplay keep matches fresh. With a runtime of roughly 15-20 hours for the solo campaign it’s a tighter but more refined entry in the Street Fighter EX series. The changes reflect player feedback making it a sharper experience than the base game.
