Street Sk8er drops you on a board with ten custom setups to choose from and lets you shred through urban environments. The core gameplay splits into two modes one focused on timed runs across 3D streets where trick combos boost your score and another open session for practicing ollies grinds and kickflips. Controls feel responsive for their time with analog stick input letting you chain moves while racing against the clock or other players in split screen. Released in late 1998 this PlayStation title was among the first to bring skateboarding to 3D gaming. Developer Atelier Double leaned into the hardware's visuals to create varied obstacles and smooth transitions between moves. While it lacks the cultural depth of later skateboarding games its straightforward approach to tricks and speed appeals to players nostalgic for early 3D sports titles. The two player mode keeps things competitive even if the track variety feels limited by today's standards.
