Stryker's Run is a side-scrolling platformer where you play a commander escaping a besieged base. Set during a futuristic war, you control Stryker, using a pistol and grenades to fight through waves of Volgan forces. You can hijack planes for temporary air support but must manage fuel carefully. The level scrolls in real time, with enemies ranging from basic riflemen to tanks and flying gunships. The split-screen mode lets two players take on the assault, adding chaotic teamwork. The entire action unfolds on one large map, which scrolls as you advance. Released in 1986 for BBC Micro and Acorn Electron, it’s remembered for its tense pacing and varied enemy tactics. While some sections involve dodging crossfire from friendly troops, the core challenge is navigating a single path under constant attack.
