Summer Sports: Paradise Island is a collection of beachside mini-games designed for the Wii. Play as a resort guest juggling activities like basketball, croquet, and mini-golf. Each sport uses motion-based controls for swinging, throwing, and spiking. Single-player challenges and split-screen matches let you test skills against friends or the AI. The tropical setting serves as a backdrop for simple, repetitive gameplay focused on hand-eye coordination. The game stands out for its variety of oddball sports and casual multiplayer options. While none of the mechanics feel especially refined, the split-screen mode keeps matches lively for small groups. Released in 2008, it capitalizes on the Wii’s early momentum but hasn’t aged well against later motion-control titles. Best suited for parties or quick sessions, it remains a forgotten entry in the console’s library. Available on Wii since April 2008.
