Summit is a 2D Metroidvania that tasks you with scaling a towering mountain littered with hazards and secrets. As a survivor of a devastating avalanche, you start in a cavern and claw your way upward, unlocking tools like ice picks, ropes, and grappling hooks to navigate shifting terrain. Exploration drives progression, scour crumbling ruins, solve environmental puzzles, and battle enemies to uncover the mountain’s mysteries. The terrain constantly challenges your platforming skills, with slippery slopes and bottomless drops keeping tension high. The game’s interconnected map rewards curiosity, with hidden paths and upgrades reshaping your route to the peak. Players praise its fluid movement and creative use of climbing mechanics, which blend precise jumps with vertical traversal. While the story leans into familiar tribal conflict tropes, the emphasis on tool-based problem solving and perilous climbs offers a fresh twist on the genre. With tight controls and a world that feels alive with danger, Summit appeals to fans of methodical exploration and high-stakes platforming.
This already war-torn country has recently been befallen by a mighty set of catastrophes. Your unlikely protagonist, a member of the weak Ruby tribe, turned out to be one of a few survivors of the last cataclysm, a giant avalanche. Your initial personal mission quickly turns into the ultimate search for truth - a search that requires you to climb the fabled grand summit. Your journey begins when you wake up in a mysterious cave. Struck by the blow of a giant avalanche you and your fellow miners have been washed away into the darkness. You must climb out of this crevasse and head to Pinetown - the once great village at the very foot of the Mountain. There might be your only chance to gather the strength, the gear and the knowledge to begin your ascent of the unknown. Your destination - the Summit - is clear, but the way there is as treacherous as it is fabulous.
