In Sunrise you play Rydec a guy whose teleportation experiment with two pals backfires leaving New York empty and the sun stuck in the sky. An unconscious stranger lies outside his house adding mystery to the mix. The adventure unfolds with item driven puzzles but skips the usual inventory screen. You only grab objects when they’re immediately useful for a challenge. A multi tool and PDA handle everything else from fixing gadgets to tracking tasks. The story moves through automatic dialogue that’s oddly chatty and dryly funny letting you skip ahead if needed. The game’s quirks stand out most like puzzles offering multiple solutions and a hint system that highlights all interactive areas. Conversations run long but stay lighthearted even as the world crumbles around you. Released in 2008 for PC it’s a lesser known title with a neat approach to streamlining adventure game basics. The lack of inventory management and self solving puzzles might appeal to players looking for something different.
