Super Mario 64 HD is a fan-made remake of the classic N64 title built with Unity for PC. Erik Roystan Ross developed this version to offer a modern take on the original gameplay without changing the core mechanics. The project currently includes just one fully playable level called Bob-omb Battlefield. Players control Mario through the familiar 3D environment, tackling jumps and collecting stars exactly as they did in the source material. It runs smoothly on Windows systems and focuses entirely on single player action. This version gained attention before Nintendo issued a takedown notice against the project. The community appreciated the effort to update the graphics and controls for modern hardware. Even though the full game is no longer available, the single level serves as a solid proof of concept for what a complete remake could look like. Fans often discuss this build when talking about unofficial remasters that pushed boundaries before getting pulled down. It remains a notable entry in the history of fan projects targeting classic 3D platformers.
