Surprise Attack is a rapid-fire shooter where you battle waves of enemies while gathering bombs under a time limit. As a space-based agent, you juggle combat and collection, with your score tied to how quickly you finish each level. The challenge lies in balancing aggressive movement with careful bomb collection, as enemies swarm and the clock ticks down. Set in 2031 A.D., the game tasks you with stopping a terrorist group that's seized a moon base and space station. With simple yet tense mechanics, it leans into old-school arcade urgency. Released in 1990 as an arcade exclusive, it remains a relic of straightforward action with minimal polish but direct gameplay.

Storyline

In 2031 A.D., an interplanetary terrorist organization known as "Black Dawn" began infiltrating into many sectors of the universe. They have now come dangerously close to the Earth and have taken over one of its vital moon bases and its neighboring space station, 2CV6, and have planted numerous time-bombs in readiness for an attack on the Earth. Special Task Force agent, John Ryan, code named "Red Thunderbolt", is the only one who can put an end to Black Dawn's evil ambitions.
