Survivor casts you as an alien trying to survive aboard a large spaceship. Your goal is to keep your energy up by either placing ten pods in incubators scattered across the ship or hunting down engineers. The 142-room vessel is split into four zones connected by doors and air vents. You navigate by standing in front of an entrance and ducking to enter. Each zone has multiple levels accessible via lifts, adding layers to the exploration. What makes Survivor stand out is its complex layout and resource management. With so many rooms to navigate, memorizing paths becomes key. The alien can spit paralyzing acid or hide in vents to evade danger. While the gameplay is straightforward, the challenge lies in balancing energy replenishment with avoiding detection. Released in late 1987, it's a relic of retro platforming that rewards persistence over skill.
