Sutte Hakkun is a puzzle platformer where you guide a beaked bird named Hakkun across four islands to gather shards of a broken rainbow. The bird can’t fly but can swallow blocks to relocate them and use colored potions to alter their properties. Each level requires strategic placement and color-based transformations to reach floating crystal shards. Progress depends on solving spatial puzzles rather than timing or combat. Movement and potion use drain a starting point total making efficiency key for high scores. The game stands out for its calm pace and clever mechanics lacking enemies or time pressure. Players focus purely on block manipulation and color logic to rebuild a shattered rainbow. Originally released on Super Famicom and later ported to Wii and Wii U Virtual Console it remains a niche title with a small but dedicated fanbase. Its minimalist design and rewarding puzzle loops earned it a 82% critic score on Japanese review aggregators though Western audiences may find its dated visuals and limited interactivity less engaging.
On an island far away in the ocean, the "Peaceful Islands" used to stretch above the land. One day the rainbow mysteriously broke apart, separating into shards that fell on the land, which is divided in four islands. Eager to return the rainbow to its magnificent self, Hakkun sets out to retrieve the shards.
