About

Sutte Hakkun is a puzzle platformer where you guide a penguin-like bird named Hakkun across islands to gather shards of a broken rainbow. The game revolves around manipulating blocks and colored potions to solve environmental puzzles. Hakkun swallows and relocates blocks while using his beak to inject potions into them, altering their properties based on color. Levels are cleared by collecting all shards, with no enemies or time limits to pressure progress. The focus is pure problem-solving, blending simple controls with layered mechanics that require planning and precision. The game’s scoring system emphasizes efficiency, deducting points for every move to reward minimalistic solutions. Originally released in 1997 for the Satellaview, it saw expanded versions adding leaderboards and extra levels, later appearing on Super Famicom, Wii, and Wii U Virtual Consoles. While its niche hardware history limits mainstream visibility, fans praise its clever design and relaxing pace. With over 100 levels across iterations, it offers steady challenge without frustration, appealing to puzzle enthusiasts who value depth over spectacle.

Storyline

On an island far away in the ocean, the "Rainbow of Happiness" used to stretch above the land. One day the rainbow mysteriously broke apart, separating into shards that fell on the island. Eager to return the rainbow to its magnificent self, Hakkun sets out to retrieve the shards.
