"Sword Art Online - Re: Hollow Fragment is definitely for the fans, especially since it makes no real effort to ease newcomers into the world. At least it has a better translation for fans to enjoy, and the combat remains solid, especially around bosses. Nothing else was added to this version, but the game remains absolutely packed with content, and that's before you factor in online play, which has a decent community going for it. While outsiders may want to wait and see if the sequel serves as a better entry point, fans who skipped the Vita version will enjoy this iteration, despite the flaws."

Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment is a single player role playing game that mixes traditional RPG elements with mechanics borrowed from MMORPGs. You upgrade weapons customize gear and take on quests either alone or with a small team of companions. The story follows a version of events where players from other virtual worlds get trapped inside Sword Art Online after a system failure. This creates new conflicts as characters from different games interact in unexpected ways. The narrative branches off from the original series’ first major arc but adds its own twists to the familiar setting. The game leans into the Sword Art Online lore while focusing on party based combat and progression systems. It exists as a standalone story but gets fully absorbed into the 2014 sequel Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment which re packages all its content. Released for PlayStation Portable in 2013 it offers a more contained experience compared to later entries in the franchise. Fans of the source material may appreciate how it explores alternate dynamics between established characters.
