Sym.Bios: Torn Asunder is a sci-fi visual novel that drops you into the fallout of World War III. Set in a irradiated Rome in 2364, it follows Min-Joon Watal as he tries to build an underground city called Tosca amid fierce local resistance. The story unfolds through dialogue and branching decisions that shape outcomes. Seven distinct characters each carry their own motives and secrets. You pick your path through moral gray zones while navigating tensions between survival, trust, and power. The game’s strength lies in its layered storytelling and sharp art style. Players weigh choices like prioritizing safety over ethics or bending truth to win trust. With 7.8/10 from 1,200 reviews, it’s praised for tight pacing and unexpected twists. The divide between Tosca’s idealism and the outside world’s desperation creates a simmering conflict that feels both personal and political. Your options ripple through the final act, making even small talk risky.
In 2364, the wounds of World War III are healed… but they left some ugly scars. In the Rome area (or what’s left of it), radiation still kills slowly and silently. It’s the place Min-Joon Watal - an extremely wealthy philanthropist and heir to the Watal Industries empire – chose to build an underground sanctuary city: Tosca, sheltered from those deadly radioactive waves that poison the Lazio region. But what Watal didn’t see coming is the locals’ resistance to his project: they don’t trust this man who comes from the “Colonies”, these artificial satellites where the rich and famous took refuge, far from the Earth and its agony, its filth, its brutality. Conspiracy theories run wild about Tosca, civilian militias are formed to attack its construction site.
