Synthrome is a 3D platformer built for speedrunners and precision players. You control a vehicle called SynthRide, navigating levels that demand tight timing and fluid movement. Each stage is a maze of jumps, slides, and hidden paths designed to test reflexes and strategy. The game offers no tutorials or guidance, just 18+ levels filled with secrets and optional challenges. Progress from a stable server hub through warped environments to the chaotic heart of SYN City, battling AI forces called SYNs along the way. The game stands out for its relentless focus on skill-based gameplay and level design. Its mix of retro 3D platformer aesthetics with modern mechanics has drawn praise in early access circles, with some players calling it one of the most demanding yet fair speedrun-focused titles in recent years. While the story leans into vague sci-fi themes, the real hook is the sheer variety of obstacles and the satisfaction of mastering each level’s physics. The lack of hand-holding might frustrate newcomers, but the reward is a lean, no-frills challenge that puts control and timing first.
The world of SYNTHROME was once ruled by The Builders, who built the SynthRide for times of war & instability, which you the player will control, in a fight against the Seven SYNs who took over the world of SYNTHROME, guided by mysterious cues & logs, you find yourself sometimes lost, but you have one mission & one mission only, which is liberate SYNTHROME from the SYNs. You start off logging in the “server” which is uncorrupted. Then move on to the hub, which is chaotic, you’ll go through a long journey through vast lands & different environments all the way to SYN City all spread out across 18+ full levels.
