T'ai Fu: Wrath of the Tiger is a 1999 PlayStation action game where you play a tiger warrior seeking revenge. Set in a mythic East Asian world filled with animal clans, the story follows T'ai Fu as he battles through Leopards, Snakes, and other foes to confront the Dragon Master. Gameplay blends platforming sections with beat-'em-up combat. Each defeated clan leader teaches you new Kung Fu techniques, expanding your moveset as you progress. The hand-drawn environments and fluid animations give it a distinct anime-inspired look. The game stands out as an early example of DreamWorks' interest in Kung Fu themes. Jeffrey Katzenberg worked on both this title and later Kung Fu Panda films, and the two share similar visual and tonal DNA. While its single-player campaign is straightforward, the escalating difficulty and varied enemy types keep it engaging. Older players might recognize its influence on later action titles, though it remains a niche pick for PlayStation 90s retro collections.
