About

Taiko no Tatsujin V Version is a rhythm game built around drumming to a wide range of tracks. Players use the Vita’s touchscreen to hit notes in time with beats, adjusting intensity with taps and swipes. The single-player mode follows brothers Don and Katsu as they’re sucked into a dual-moon world, teaming up with Maple to fight Noise Devils disrupting villages. Gameplay leans into quick reflexes and timing, with levels synced to songs spanning anime, J-pop, and wrestling anthems. The game’s charm comes from its eclectic music selection and whimsical story. Over 100 tracks include covers of vocaloid hits and licensed songs from other games, plus original compositions. The portable Vita format makes it easy to drum anywhere, though the narrative takes a backseat to the rhythm action. While not the most complex entry in the series, it’s a solid pick for fans of beat-based challenges and anime-inspired soundtracks.
