Taiko Web is a rhythm game inspired by Taiko no Tatsujin, built for web browsers. Players hit drums in sync with visual cues to match music tracks, supporting both solo and competitive multiplayer. Developed and maintained by Bui since 2015, it offered a free, accessible way to enjoy taiko drumming mechanics without special hardware. The project gained attention for its community-driven development and open-source approach. However it was removed in January 2023 following a legal request from Bandai Namco. Despite its sudden end many players still cite it as a creative tribute to the original franchise. Its browser-based format made it a popular choice for casual music gaming before the shutdown.
