Tanglewood is a puzzle-platformer where you guide Nymn, a small creature stranded outside their underground home as night falls. The world transforms into a hostile environment filled with predators, and you must use agility, clever traps, and environmental tricks to avoid danger. Each level requires timing and strategy to navigate obstacles while conserving limited resources. The gameplay mixes fast-paced dodging with methodical problem solving, all under the pressure of an advancing night. The game’s stark contrast between day and night settings creates a tense atmosphere. Players appreciate the precise controls and the challenge of learning predator behaviors. Tanglewood also released on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, a rarity for modern indie titles. Its mix of action and puzzle elements offers a brisk, focused experience that lasts around five to seven hours.
Set in a fictional world, the game follows a young creature, Nymn, who is separated from home after the twin suns set. Unable to get back to safety, Nymn must find a way to survive the night terrors and make it to morning. TANGLEWOOD’s world is a dangerous one after dark, and Nymn must use skills of evasion, special abilities, traps and trickery to defeat predators.
