Tappy Chicken is a simple arcade game where you tap to keep a bird aloft as it zooms through narrowing gaps between poles. Each tap gives a brief upward boost but leaves you vulnerable to the ground below. The challenge lies in timing those taps to avoid collisions while maximizing your score. Online leaderboards track your progress and let you compare with others. After each crash you gather eggs which add a minor incentive to keep playing. The mobile and browser version is free with ads. Made by one person using only visual scripting tools in Unreal Engine 4 this project existed mainly to demonstrate the engine's capabilities. No traditional coding was used in its creation. While the gameplay mirrors many other minimalist flap-style games the technical achievement behind its development has drawn attention from developers. Casual players might not care about that but the smooth performance and responsive controls work well across all platforms.
