Target Plus is a light gun shooter that splits into two distinct mini games. One mode tasks you with taking down rapidly moving targets at a shooting range. The other flips the formula by having you defend a stationary chicken from swarms of bugs. Both modes require quick reflexes and precise aiming. The game’s co-op mode lets two players take turns or work together in the chicken defense segment. Its oddball premise and simple mechanics made it a niche favorite on 8-bit systems. Released in late 1988, it ran on DOS and classic platforms like the C64 and Spectrum. The second half’s absurd bug-fighting vibe still stands out as a quirky take on the genre.
