Targhan is a side-scrolling action game that blends platforming, puzzle solving, and combat. You navigate through forests, mountains, and ancient temples to defeat a mysterious enemy. Each level requires quick reflexes to bypass obstacles and enemies while also using brains to crack basic puzzles. The straightforward controls let you focus on jumping, attacking, and dodging as you push toward a looming fortress. The game’s structure feels like a straightforward but varied gauntlet, with environments shifting from overgrown paths to eerie stone halls. For its time, the mix of action and light adventure elements stood out on systems like DOS and Amiga. While the story is sparse and the graphics basic, the pacing keeps it engaging. Puzzle sections slow the action but rarely stall progress for long. Though forgotten by modern players, it holds a niche spot in retro gaming circles for its early attempt to merge genres. The 1989 release date makes it a curiosity for fans of early platformers with a hint of mystery.
Seek and Destroy the Evil One. "Far from Edengarhn is the castle of the Evil One. Far from your village, a lord keeps a secret, such a powerful lord that he cannot be human, a creature floating in a world that dies and grows again". Now, as others went before you, you must learn that it is your turn to face the Evil One but you are the one who will come back... You must travel through dense forest and over high mountains to reach a temple guarded by evil sentries. Then, if you are successful in your quest you will return to your tribe with the gift.
