This is an unreleased Super Nintendo platformer developed by GameTek in the early nineties. Players control Tarzan as he swings through the jungle and battles enemies in a single-player adventure. The project was so close to finishing that it appeared in Nintendo Power before being pulled from shelves. Clayton Kauzlaric, one of the developers, noted that the team had only months left before launch when they decided to stop work. The cancellation happened for two main reasons rather than technical issues. First, the gameplay involved killing endangered species which sparked controversy. Second, playtests showed the core loop just wasn't fun enough to justify releasing it. This makes Tarzan a notable piece of gaming history that never saw the light of day on SNES cartridges. It remains one of those lost titles that collectors discuss but cannot actually play.
