Team Innocent: The Point of No Return is a sci-fi adventure game where three women investigate their own genetic experiments. You mostly play as Saki, navigating pre-rendered environments to collect items, solve puzzles, and fight enemies. Combat uses four action modes, punching, kicking, shooting, and limited jumping, executed from third-person perspectives with rotating camera angles. The story spans three missions as the characters track down clues about their past, with temporary switches to other playable allies. The game leans into anime aesthetics with stylized cutscenes and voice-over dialogue. Its mix of exploration and action feels dated but retains a cultish charm. Though overlooked at release, it’s noted for its ambitious concept and visual polish for the PC-FX hardware. Some retro gaming circles praise its creative blend of mystery and combat, even if the execution leans simple. The focus on character-driven sci-fi themes gives it a niche appeal among fans of 90s adventure games.
The events of the game are set in the future. The Galactic Police discovers that a scientist named Cronus has conducted genetic experiments on human beings. The police chief rescues three little girls, each one of whom bears the traces of these experiments. Fast-forward fifteen years: the three young women - Saki, Lilis, and Ariel - now work for the Galactic Police, determined to find out the truth about their origins and the nature of experiments. They are sent on three dangerous missions - missions they might not survive...
