Terra Pulse drops you into Lena, an artifact hunter exploring a post-apocalyptic Rio de Janeiro where nature has reclaimed the skyline. The game functions as a Metroidvania, meaning you move through interconnected zones to unlock new abilities and reach previously inaccessible areas. Your goal is simple on paper but tricky in practice. You navigate ruined skyscrapers and overgrown streets while hunting for relics from the old world. The story kicks off after Lena gets trapped in a city that no one has ever returned from alive, forcing her to uncover the truth behind the Terra Pulse event that changed humanity forever. What stands out here is how the setting feels lived in rather than just a backdrop. You piece together the history of this place by finding memories hidden within the ruins, which adds emotional weight to your exploration. Studio Bravarda built a world where every corner holds a clue about the disaster that disabled electric artifacts decades ago. The single-player campaign runs smoothly on PC and Mac without needing any extra frills. Players who like figuring out environmental puzzles will find plenty to chew on here. There are no hand-holding tutorials, so you have to pay attention to your surroundings if you want to survive the mutated creatures roaming the streets.

Storyline

Decades after a disaster that disabled most of the planet's electric artifacts and turned nature against civilization, humans are trying to get back on their feet, while keeping away from the cities now infested with mutated creatures. You are an artifact hunter named Lena, granddaughter of one of the last survivors of the cataclysm. Along with your roda (group) of hunters, you'll venture into cities to recover relics from the old world. However, after facing an unexpected crossroad, you end up trapped in one of the only cities which no hunter has ever returned: Rio de Janeiro. You will explore the ruins of Rio, discovering the memories of a city that holds many scars, even before the disaster - scars that may help unravel the mistery behind the event that changed humanity's destiny forever: the Terra Pulse.
