Terraguard is a space shooter where you pilot a ship through waves of alien enemies. You blast through hordes using basic but responsive controls. Each level increases intensity with faster enemies and tighter corridors. Collecting power-ups temporarily boosts firepower or shields. The goal is to survive as long as possible while racking up points. Released in late 1982, this game predates many modern shooter tropes. Despite VIC-20's hardware limits, it maintains a brisk pace and replay value. Some retro gaming circles still highlight it as an early example of the genre.
