Tetris is a puzzle game where you arrange falling blocks to fill horizontal lines. Each piece consists of four connected squares that you rotate and position in a ten-column grid. When a line has no gaps it vanishes earning points. The challenge grows as blocks descend faster forcing quick decisions. This Philips CD-i edition follows the core loop but adds minimal new features beyond the base mechanics. Despite its age this version maintains the sharp tension that made the original iconic. The single player mode focuses purely on clearing lines with no distractions. While later releases expanded on the formula this 1992 port holds up for its clean execution. Casual players and longtime fans alike find the same satisfaction in those satisfying row clears. The game remains a benchmark for puzzle design simplicity.
